Title Inheritance
The male-line descendants of the First Count de Marolles, Jacques de GAIGNERON JOLLIMONT de MAROLLES (1775-1833) become extinct by 1895. Thus, the title and dignity of Count in the Kingdom of France could have passed on to the family of his brother Marie-Nicolas-Joseph (1781-1850).

Marie-Nicolas-Joseph was born in Le Lamentin, Martinique on April 12, 1781. He was the son of Charles Joseph GAIGNERON, Seigneur de JOLLIMONT and Marie Louise Elizabeth des VERGERS de SANOIS (+1796).
He married twice:
1) Anne de BUC de SAINT-PRIX on June 3, 1807. No issue.
2) Louise Césarine Eléonore de PERRINELLE du May (1791-1845) on August 27, 1810. They issued:

Count de Gaigneron-Jollimon de Marolles
Louis Adolphe (1829-1899) was born in Paris on September 4, 1829 and died in Bordeaux on May 14, 1899. He was the 6th Count de Marolles.
