Charles Joseph was born in Lamentin, Martinique on January 27, 1747 and died on March 1, 1785. On July 20, 1772 he married a member of prominent Martinique family, Marie Louise Elizabeth des VERGERS de SANNOIS (+1796).

Marie Rose Nicolas Christophe (dit Sainte Rose) Gaigneron Jollimon de Marolles (1783-1857) was the son of Charles Joseph Gaigneron, Seigneur de Jollimont (1747-1785) and Marie Louise Élisabeth des Vergers de Sannois (+1796).
Marie-Rose-Nicolas was also the brother of Jacques GAIGNERON JOLLIMONT, First Count Gaingeron Jollimont de Marolles.
The descendants of Marie-Rose-Nicolas added "de Marolles" after their last name (Source 2).

The Captain (47th Infantry Regiment) Henri Gaigneron Jollimont de Marolles was born October 30, 1880 in Le Lamentin, Martinique and died for France in Pas de Calais on July 16, 1915 (Source 4). Furthermore, he formed part of the "1905 Promotion" of the École Militaire d’Infanterie (Saint-Maixent).
Citation: "Chef dans toute l'acceptation du mot. Chargé d'une mission à la fois offensive et défensive, a su, par son ascendant, assurer le départ et provoquer l'élan des fractions d'attaque et maintenir les autres pendant cinq jours consécutifs sous un bombardement d'une violence inouïe.
