Joseph was born in Martinique and baptized at the church of Saint Laurent in Lamentin on April 9, 1700. In 1726, he married Charlotte-Angelique-Agustine PAPIN du PONT   (1709-1746) and issued:

Charles Joseph was born in Lamentin, Martinique on January 27, 1747 and died on March 1, 1785. On July 20, 1772 he married a member of  prominent Martinique family, Marie Louise Elizabeth des VERGERS de SANNOIS (+1796).


Biographical Note: Marie-Louise-Elizabeth's  family was related to the Empress Marie-Josephe-Rose TASCHER de la PAGERIE, the first wife of the Emperor Napoelon, through the maternal side. The Empress' mother was Rose Claire des VERGERS de SANNOIS

3) Marie- Louise-Philippine (1779-1860) married twice: on January 13, 1795 to Nicolas-Léon PAPIN DUPONT (+1803) and secondly to in 1804 to Pierre-Grégoire d'ARNAUD


5) Marie-Nicolas-Joseph, (1781-1850) title and dignity of Count Gaigneron Jollimont de Marolles passes to his branch after his brother's branch has no male heirs in 1895.


6) Marie-Rose-Nicolas-Christophe (dit Saint Rose) 1783-1857, married on January 24, 1815 to Céline de MASSIAS de Bonne and issued: (Nicolas-Adolphe, Élise, Nicolas-Alphonse, Nicolas-Léon, and Anna)

Marie Rose Nicolas Christophe (dit Sainte Rose) Gaigneron Jollimon de Marolles (1783-1857) was the son of Charles Joseph Gaigneron, Seigneur de Jollimont (1747-1785) and Marie Louise Élisabeth des Vergers de Sannois (+1796).

 Marie-Rose-Nicolas was also the brother of Jacques GAIGNERON JOLLIMONT, First Count Gaingeron Jollimont de Marolles.

The descendants of Marie-Rose-Nicolas added "de Marolles" after their last name (Source 2).

He married  Céline de MASSIAS de BONNE (1799-1835). They issued six children:

The Captain (47th Infantry Regiment) Henri Gaigneron Jollimont de Marolles was born October 30, 1880 in Le Lamentin, Martinique and died for France in Pas de Calais  on July 16, 1915 (Source 4). Furthermore, he formed part of the "1905 Promotion" of the École Militaire d’Infanterie (Saint-Maixent).

 Citation: "Chef dans toute l'acceptation du mot. Chargé d'une mission à la fois offensive et défensive, a su, par son ascendant, assurer le départ et provoquer l'élan des fractions d'attaque et maintenir les autres pendant cinq jours consécutifs sous un bombardement d'une violence inouïe. A été tué alors qu'il mettait la dernière main aux préparatifs d'une nouvelle attaque" - Ecole militaire d'infanterie de Saint-Maixent-l'École Promotion 1905 (Source 4)

[Genealogical Note: Certain genealogies show Alain Gaigneron Jollimont de Marolles (1913-1991) as the son of Henri-Nicolas and Renée Durand.
