Origins of the Family
According to the book "The Rose of Martinique", the VERGERS de SANNOIS family originated from Brest, France. The moved to Martinique and were among the oldest families in the island. This noble family owned a large number of plantations in Martinique ( Source 2, 7-9).

In the "Grand Armorial de France" by Henri Jougla de MORENAS, the arms of the Des Vergers de Sannois are described as "d'azur et la bande d‘or" (Source 7, Volume III, p. 189).

He was elector of Nemours and secretary to the King of
France between 1455 and 1467. Simon des Vergers de Sannois received letter
patent in November 1482 confirming nobility from Louis XI of Valois (r.1461-1483), King of France. Charles VIII of Valois (r.1483-1498) confirmed the letter patent in February 1484 (Source 1).

Élisabeth MAIGNE du PLAT was the daughter of Guillaume MAIGNE du PLAT (+1690) and Marie d'ORANGE (1641-1680). Marie d'Orange was the third daughter of Guillaume d'Orange (1605-1674) and Madeleine HUGUET (1613-1690).
She was first married to Claude Papin de l'Epine (1627-1667) but become a widow.
