The union of the House of Gaigneron-Jollimont de Marolles and the House of PIOLENC took place in 1864 when the Joseph-Marcel-Marie de PIOLENC, Marquis of Piolenc, married Charlotte- Jacqueline GAIGNERON JOLLIMONT de MAROLLES (1841-1881).

Charlotte was the ONLY child of Charles-Camille-Édouard de GAIGNERON JOLLIMONT de MAROLLES (1807-1895), Count de Gaigneron Jollimont de Marolles, page to their Majesties Louis XVIII and Charles X, Captain of the French Cavalry and Caroline JUTEAU (1820-1884).
In 1882, Charlotte's father become the 5th Count de Gaingeron Jollimont de Marolles at the death of his nephew Edouard Gaigneron de Marolles (1835-1882). With no male heirs issued, the title of Count de Gaigneron de Marolles passed to the male line of the brother of the fist Count de Gaigneron de Marolles, Joseph de Gaigneron-Jollimon-de Marolles (1781-1850). The current head of the House de Gaigneron-Jollimont-de Marolles is the Count Michel de Gaigneron-de Marolles.
Joseph-Marcel-Marie de PIOLENC (1843-1912), Lieutenant d'infanterie démissionnaire, Chef de bataillon de la Mobile de Seine-et-Marne (1870), Knight (1859) and Officer (1870) of the Legion of Honor, Médaille de la Valeur Militaire, British Crimea War Medal and the Sardinian Crimea War Medal, was the first-born and heir of the Marquis Joseph-Marie-Alexandre de PIOLENC (1801-1859) and Adrienne Marie de MORGAN de BELLOY (1809-1877). Joseph and Adrienne issued (Joseph-Marcel-Marc, Eugénie-Joseph-Marie, and Ludovic-Henri-Marie).
